Samsung upcoming smartphone the Galaxy S5 could get 4GB of RAM according to Korean news website ZDNet Korea. Also confirming a 64-bit processor that the device was previously rumored to get.
ZDNet Korea claims that Samsung will start producing the new LPDDR4 chip in beginning of 2014, this chip offers double the performance of the LDDR3 memory (which is the most used RAM in Mobile devices) and LPDDR4 will consume 40% less power, at just 1.1 Volts.
All though this is good news, the ZDNet doesn’t think the memory will be ready to hit the market before mid 2015 early 2016 while the Galaxy S5 was previously rumored to be released in February 2014
Other specs detail that the Galaxy S5 will have a 16 Megapixel camera and a 4000 mAh battery but no fingerprint scanner, the flagship smartphone will also get 2 versions a “cheaper” version with a plastic body and a “premium” version with a metal housing. As far as the specs will vary per device is yet unknown.
