HTC has just “revealed” the new HTC One M8 or whatever was left to reveal after all the leaks of the device we have had over the past few weeks with leaked videos and tons of pictures being released to the internet. Something new we did learn is that the device will be available in three different editions instead of the previously rumored 2 editions, lets take a look at what each of these editions do and which one you should get:
Developer Edition
The Developer Edition HTC One will be specially made for developers, anyone can order it and it brings a series of advantages for rooting enthusiasts as the device will be SIM unlocked and users are free to flash whatever software or ROM you want without losing warranty. The Developer edition is only available from the official HTC website and costs $650 and is available for Pre-order March 25th 2014
Carrier Edition
The Carrier edition is your typical HTC One M8 that comes with the UI changes that your carrier has applied to them. The new device will become available at Verizon Wireless, AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint in the US
Google Play Edition
For the true Android fans out there the “Google Play Edition” is probably the one for you as it runs on a stock version of Android Kit Kat 4.4 which means that it doesn’t come with any of the modifications made by carriers, it was previously already rumored but until now not yet confirmed. The Play Edition will start at $699 and can be pre-ordered from March 25th 2014
