Google has just released an unexpected update for its Android L Developer preview. The new version which has build number LPV81C (from LPV79) is now available for the Nexus 5 and Nexus 7. Google hasn’t released an official change log for the update but does mention that it adds support for Google Fit which is an open platform that lets users control their fitness data.

By adding Google Fit to the Preview, Google allows developers to start making apps using the open platform. Fitness app have gained popularity over the last couple of months because of the increase in use of Smartwatches running Android Wear. It is yet unknown when Android L will become available to the public.
