Motorola has finally started rolling out the official Android 5.1 OTA update for the second generation Moto X smartphone (XT1092). The Android 5.1 update which has build number LPE23.32-25.1 (software version 23.16.1) brings several new changes and improvements among them device protection to keep the phone locked even if it is stolen.
For those who haven’t received the notification yet can download the Moto X Android 5.1 OTA .zip file and install Build LPE23.32-25.1 on their Moto X. For those wondering, here is the full Changelog:

- Unpinning of screen requires secured PIN used to unlock the phone
- Chop to turn on flashlight

How to install Moto X Android 5.1 OTA
- Connect your Moto X to your device
- Move the downloaded .zip file to your device’s internal memory
- Reboot into recovery mode
- choose install update from sdcard
- Select the previously imported OTA .zip file
- Once completed, Reboot your system
- You will now boot into Android 5.1 Lollipop
