While Moto G and Moto X (2014) users are already enjoying Android 5.0 Lollipop Motorola has kept Moto X 2013 users waiting for a long time but it seems like the wait is finally over. Previously Motorola Software engineer Luciano Carvalho confirmed that Lollipop was being soak tested on the Moto X 2013 confirming that Motorola was indeed working on the update, now a new email from Motorola send out to developers confirm that the release of Moto X 2013 Lollipop update is close.
Reddit user Monkey_tennis which has a T-Mobile Developer Edition Moto X 2013 has received an email (read it here) from Motorola announcing the release of a new software update, which most likely will be Android 5.0 or Android 5.1
In the Email, Motorola informs developers that “we are inviting Moto X 2013 owners to participate in an early preview of a new software release”. All though a specific release date is not specified, we do expect it to roll out before the end of this month.
