There have been many rumors about the upcoming iPad (which will be called iPad Pro) that it will feature a bigger 12.9 inch display instead of the 9.7 inch display the iPad Air currently has. On Tuesday an official Korean display supplier for Apple has told the Korean Times by telephone that they are now producing 12.9 inch displays for what will be the upcoming iPad Pro
“Apple’s local first-tier display supplier is now producing a 12.9-inch Retina Display to be used in the new iPad, which will be coming out sometime early next year,” an official at a local Apple supplier in Korea told The Korea Times by telephone Tuesday.
The new iPad Pro won’t just have a bigger display, Apple will also introduce a new type of display technology allowing the new iPad to have a ultra high picture quality but still have the thin and light design and long battery life.
“The 12.9-inch iPad will have improved picture quality. As the Apple partner intends to boost its lineup for displays that have almost ultra high-definition (UHD) quality, the upcoming iPad will provide very clear quality similar to that of UHD,”
As of now we don’t know when the iPad Pro will be announced or when it will be available in stores but the Korean display supplier has told KoreanTimes that it will become available in 2014, maybe the new iPad will be announced during WWDC 2014 taking place on June 9?
