Indian OnePlus One users will No longer receive Cyanogenmod updates

OnePlus co-founder confirms that Indian OnePlus One users will No longer receive Cyanogenmod updates due to a recent agreement between Cyanogen and Micromax. The announcement was made days before the OnePlus One would go on sale on Amazon India and comes to a shocker to current OnePlus users.

This means that from now on any OnePlus users in India will not receive any OTA updates for their devices this doesn’t mean that updates can be installed manually. The reason behind this is because Cyanogen has signed a deal with Yu (a brand owned by Micromax) which means that from now on Cyanogen OS will run exclusively on devices from that brand, this forbids Cyanogen from bringing out updates to any other device in India (including the OnePlus One)

The announcement was also made during Black Friday a time where any user can purchase the much demanded OnePlus One without needing an invite. You can read the full statement on the official One Blog
