For some time now we have known that both LG and Huawei are working on a new Nexus device. According to new information shared by MyDrives the new Huawei Nexus is based on a Mate 8 prototype which will be released this fall.
Huawei and Google will be working closely together to get the device ready for this fall. According to the sources, the device will feature a “premium” design using superior build quality materials such as metal and glass. As far as Huawei Nexus Specs go, they are the following if the leaks are accurate:
- 5.7 inch Display
- 2K Resolution 2,560 x 1,440 (or QHD)
- Snapdragon 810 chipset from Qualcomm
- Will Run Android 6.0 “Muffin”
According to the sources, it is yet unclear if the Snapdragon 810 will be used due to its overheating issues. We could see Huawei use their high end Kirin chipsets instead. The upcoming Huawei Nexus device is expected to be revealed during this year’s Google I/O 2015.
It is yet unknown which of the two devices being developed will be the flagship Nexus 2015 smartphone. Just like Huawei, LG is also working on a reboot of the Nexus 5 which will be called the Nexus 5 (2015 Edition) which will feature similar specs as the Huawei Nexus but with a smaller screen and similar design to the Nexus 5.
