The first custom ROM for the LG G Watch running Android wear is now available and is called Gohma 1.0, the ROM allows you to do several things like improve battery life, reduced lag between screens, improved overall performance and increased vibration intensity.
The script in the ROM will automatically Root the G watch for you, we are going to give an in-depth guide on How to run this script and eventually get the Mod running on your device. Before we stat, make sure to download the: Gohma 1.0 custom ROM
Important: Doing this will factory reset your watch, we highly recommend you back up your smartwatch before you start Rooting your LG G Watch
1. Unlock Bootloader and factory reset
- First we will need to enable USB debugging, for this, scroll down to settings and then “About”, tap the build number 7 times and enable “Developer Settings”
- Go to Developer Settings and then enable USB debugging.
- Extract the downloaded .zip file
- Open your command prompt (on windows, go to the start menu and write CMD)
- run the following command: adb reboot-bootloader
- Once the LG G Watch has rebooted, run this command: fastboot oem unlock
- Proceed to choose “Yes” this will unlock the bootloader as well as factory reset the watch
- Now proceed to follow the instructions depending on what OS you are running
For Windows Users
- Reboot your device
- Make sure the windows drivers are installed (download the universal ADB drivers here)
- Enable USB debugging on the watch
- Connect your device to your computer
- run the windows_installer.bat from the downloaded .zip file
For Linux Users
- Reboot your device
- Make sure the windows drivers are installed
- Enable USB debugging on the watch
- Connect your device to your computer
- Run the linux_installer.bat from the downloaded .zip file
For Mac Users
- Reboot your device
- Enable USB debugging on the watch
- Connect your device to your computer
- Run osx_installer.sh from the downloaded .zip file
Once you have run the .sh file, proceed to follow the instructions on the screen and voila! you now have successfully rooted your LG G Watch
