A good old friend has returned, the nested folder. This bug first appeared in iOS 7 and it appears that Apple has been having some issues with fixing this bug as it has returned in iOS 8 allowing users to create a folder inside a folder.
The nested folder iOS 8 bug is useful if you want to hide some apps you never use (like Apple’s stock apps). The nested folder is easy to create and easy to undo. The bug works on every device running iOS 8 (iPhone 6, iPhone 6 plus, iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, iPhone 5) To create your own nested folder, follow our little guide here:
- Create a folder containing several apps
- Create a second folder using just 2 apps (make sure to create it next to the previous folder created) as the folder creation animation starts, quickly drag the old folder created in step 1 over the new folder.
- Take a look at this GIF to get a better sense on how to do it:
You can easily reverse this by dragging the folder that is inside the folder to the home screen.
