CyanogenMod is a firmaware distribution available for Android, the firmware is designed to increase performance, reliability and adds new features such as mirroring your Android device to the Apple TV. Cyanogen Inc is currently working on its very own smartphone sources have confirmed to Phandroid the new smartphone is rumored to feature the 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapragon 8974AC processor.

As of now we don’t know all too much about the new smartphone or who will be manfucturing it, it is rumored to be manufacturered by Gionee who’s CEO Lu Wei Bing teased on Chinese social network Weibo the Snapragon 8974AC processor and is currently the only one to have done so, which makes it a likely candidate to be manufacturing the new CyanogenMod smartphone. The new Oppo N1 however will be the first smartphone to launch with the CyanogenMod costum ROM, the Oppo N1 will ships with a 5.9 inch 1080p display, 1.7GHz Snapdragon 600, 2GB RAM, 16GB/32GB storage options, and 3610 mAh battery. Currently Oppo has no plans on bringing the N1 to the US, UK or Europe. The fact that Oppo will be launching the first smartphone with CyanogenMod installed also makes it a good possible manufacturer for the upcoming smartphone.
