Just hours after Android 5.1 OTA and Factory images have became available XDA user eagleeyetom has managed to successfully port Android 5.1 to the Nexus 4 (codename Mako).
Android 5.1 with build number LMY47D brings many new features and fixes many annoying bugs among them the Memory Leak bug. Some of the new features included in 5.1 Lollipop are the ability to use Dual SIM in one Device, new feature called Protection, High Definition voice calling, ability to join Wi-Fi networks from quick settings and control your paired Bluetooth devices from Quick Settings (full changelog here)
Initially Android 5.1 has only been made available for the Nexus 5, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10. While you can view a full list of all devices that will get Android 5.1 the Nexus 4 isn’t among the lucky ones. However, by using this unofficial port, you will be able to install Androdi 5.1 Nexus 4

- Download the ROM
- Reboot your device to CWM/TWRP
- Install the update
- Full wipe Cache and ART
- Flash Gapps which you can download here
- Reboot your device
- Enjoy Android 5.1 Lollipop on your Nexus 4
