If you have recently installed AOKP and are having issues with Google Apps or Gapps on the custom ROM there is a way you can solve this by re-installed the AOKP Gapps. Keep in mind that for this to work, you will have to download the correct Gapps for your Android version, you can download Google Apps here.
How to install Google Apps on AOKP
- Once downloaded, flash the .zip file to your SD card
- Boot into recovery mode
- navigate to Install Zip from SD card
- Choose the gapps.zip file
- Once done installing, wipe the cache of the device
- Reboot your device
