Source code of the current Chromecast version indicates that Google is working on making the homescreen of their popular media streaming device more useful adding several new features, among them a widget that displays the weather of today and tells the weather of tomorrow.
Redditor asjmcguire spotted the line of codes when browsing the source code finding some interesting images that could possibly be used to indicate the type of weather
But that is not all, currently the Chromecast device displays high-resolution images that appear randomly on the background. In the source code several Javascript code reveal that Google is working on letting you display your own images which it takes from your Google Drive account or G+ photos. A spokesperson made the following statement to Gigaom
“We’re always experimenting with new features, but have nothing new to announce.”
